General Description:

Neb stands just a tiny amount over three feet tall, slightly stocky, or perhaps plump would be a better word, with short but thick, usually dusty and sometimes grimy blonde hair. Perched on a bulbous nose was a small set of spectacles, though his eyesight wasn't really that bad, the glasses did help clear up the fuzzy places that were caused from reading since he could first pick up a book, and almost constantly since then. He is usually found with a book in his hands, head buried into the pages as he reads at a disturbingly fast speed. He wears the clothes of a scholar, though somewhat creased from traveling within the clothes. When cleaned up and trying he can look quite the scholarly part, as it is he looks more like a librarian, book in hand, spectacles on nose, and countless layers on dust on him from the libraries he visits at any and every chance. He carries a simple quarterstaff with him everywhere he goes, and a dagger hangs at his belt, along with a small group of belt pouches. That seems to comprise almost all that he owns.

Background:

Neblincariusvercatian is a prime example of someone to whom you could apply the word "fuzzy" too. Constantly vague, as his mind runs off on tangents, he very rarely concentrates on what is at hand, and quite usually is more interested in whatever is happening in his books to what is happening in real life. Nonetheless he is insightful in his spell casting when he needs to be. Usually happy, in a vaguely nondescript way, he plods along happily with whatever is going on about him, occasionally coming into focus to point something out, to just as soon again loose his train of thought. Neblincariusvercatian grew up in a library. There is no other way to explain it. His father a librarian, and his mother a largely unknown scholar, he spent all of his time amongst the books and tomes within the reasonable library that his father ran. Reading his way steadily through the books from an unusually early age, he nevertheless remembered almost every word each book held. Despite reading the entire library's selection, good books or bad, fiction or fact, and then every book that his father ordered in. He was always first to read the book, before it was placed upon the shelves. Also at an early age, Neblin apprenticed himself to an aged gnomish illusionist, it seemed the right thing to do, for all the books he had ever read said that Gnomes had illusion in their blood. This proved true for this scholarly gnome as well. He studied hard under his tutor, relishing the magic spells that he slowly learnt, for they took much more effort to learn than books, and thus took up more of his time while he waited for a new book to come in. Neblin met Fia, the halfling rogue early on in his life, discovering her as she absentmindedly slipped the book he was reading into her pouch. Startled, he almost came to be focused on the event, and after a brief discussion between two equally vague beings, he got his book back, and they became the closest of friends. While Fia was lively and always moving, Neblin was usually trailing along vacantly, reading a book, stumbling over things for Fia to 'find'. Trying to get Fia out of the library, where all sorts of books had been going missing without being logged out, only to be returned by Neblin a week or two later, his parents decided to send Neblin (and therefore Fia) off to join the militia.
